Basically, there are two types of CV formats: “chronological format” and “qualification format”.
The chronological format displays your work information in chronological order. This is a good format if you have a concrete employment record with a stable career growth curve. In this format you can prove your reliability and professional development.
If you have just left school or are returning to work, or if you have gaps in your work experience, you can try out the Skills format for your resume.
Use this format to highlight the skills you offer and use your work history to retain those skills rather than as the core of the resume. In this format, you can list the time you spend running a set of skills without listing the exact work data.
Many CVs are actually a mix of both CVs. Remember that there is no permanent rule for compiling your resume. Your main criterion is to create a CV that attracts the attention of the employer and presents you as a serious candidate for the position you are looking for.
